Power Tools Battery Conversion GuidesLooking for way to use different brands of battery packs on your single line of power tools? Or one brand of battery packs on different power tools systems? You came to the right place. 12-Volt Systems
18-Volt / 20-Volt Systems
Notes on 18V/20V Lithium Ion Battery PacksMost, if not all, 18-volt and 20-volt lithium ion systems uses five 3.6-volt lithium ion battery cells (connected in series) to create the battery pack. Five 3.6 volt batteries provides 18 nominal volts. The battery pack provides 20 volts when fully charged. To increase the capacity of the battery pack--4 Ah vs. 2 Ah--manufacturers would add five more cells, connected-in-series, to the battery pack in parallel to the first five cells. 24-Volt Systems
40-Volt Systems
Notes on 40V Lithium Ion Battery PacksMost, if not all, 40-volt lithium ion systems are practically two 18V/20V battery packs connected in series. In fact, that's how WORX is marketing its Share Power battery packs and power tools. The 40V battery pack provides 36 nominal volts and provides 40 volts when fully charged.
