DeWALT 18-Volt XRP battery packs utilize Ni-Cd battery cells. DeWALT actually sells an 18-Volt to 20-Volt MAX Lithium Battery Adapter Kit (see "DeWALT 20-Volt MAX Battery Pack" section below).
