Preserving Your Vehicle's Computer Memory

Today's cars are quite advanced with its own computer brain. But some of the data and settings are only preserved in memory when the car battery is still providing power to the computer. These data could be used for SMOG inspections. And the setting could power your clock and your preferences. When the battery dies or when the car battery is removed from the vehicle, the data and settings could be lost. One way to preserve the computer memory is to use a OBD-II Memory Saver, like the one shown in the photo below.

If you attach this memory saver to a working 12v battery and then plug it into your car's OBD-II port, before your car battery dies or is removed, the computer memory will be saved while you swap out the battery.
