Notebook Computers Power ConsumptionThis web page documents a variety of laptop computers and their power usage. If you leave your laptop computer on to perform tasks, you can take a look at these measurements to get an idea how much electricity you are using. These measurements will help you determine ways to reduce your electricity bill. For example, you may be able to substitute a more energy efficient laptop to perform the same tasks. The measurements are taken using an electricity usage measurement device, such as a "Kill A Watt" (see "Related Links" below). If you measure the electricity usage of your laptop, please update this page and add it to the list below. Running means that the notebook computer has booted, but is running idle; all components active (not in sleep mode). Any exceptions are noted in the "Notes" column. Measurements
