Tiling Tip #4 - Vise-Grip Can Help You Cut Tiles

It can be a real chore to cut small pieces off a tile without a wet cutter. But I found a neat trick with a straight-line tile cutter and a vise-grip. For example, if you want to cut off a corner on your tile, carefully score it with the straight-line tile cutter. Because the corner is too small to snap with the tile cutter, c-clamp the tile onto a table or something stable. Then secure the vise-grip onto the corner. In one swift motion snap the corner off with the vise-grip (see photo below). Remember to wear eye-protection to prevent flying fragments from hitting your eyes.
