No. The wires have battery connectors on them. But I remember the battery I got had slightly bigger tabs. So I cut off the connectors on the inflator wires and cramped on two new connectors onto the wires.

Thanks for the great detailed instructional. I have one of these left abandoned new in some rental property from a decade ago. The AGM finally bit the dust, and per your lead, I've bought a replacement at Amazon for $23 shipped.

I tried to find a battery in 2013, but they cost as much as the charger. Now I found one for $17. Hanging onto my old junk pays off again!
My old battery (2007 ?) is 1270 7.0 amp.
Thanks for the excellent help.

Thanks for this post. It was a life saver. I have a 15-20 year old Campbell Haufield cc2300. I bought a newer version of this unit for another house and it never worked well so I bought a non-battery powered one instead. Then this old one started losing battery power and I was sad to see this unit go---until I read your post. I bought a replacement battery online for $14 plus $8 shipping. It took literally 5 minutes to replace and it works great. Maybe get another 15-20 years on this unit. Thanks again for giving us an alternative to replacement.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!! I was about to replace the unit entirely not knowing if a replacement battery existed or not. Found a 12V 8.0Ah for less than $20. All is well again!

Title: Campbell Hausfeld CC 2300 Portable Inflator Getting Tired?
Weblog: GearHack
Excerpt: I have one that the battery needs replaced on, but even plugged into the cigarette lighter, it seems like like it takes MUCH longer to inflate things than it used to. I figure the piston is aluminum and the cylinder or rings just might be worn out. Thoughts?
