idrive warranty?I have a Wayne Dalton I drive that has failed twice in 5 years. The first was a board, the second a catastrophic spring or motor failure. Motor was sent but the worm gear must be bent cause the old motor will not come off.I think the spring is also broken. I called Wayne Dalton and left a message but had no reply in 2 weeks. I purchased a Chamberlain Whisper Drive and took the I Drive down. I saw a similar post that said their new opener was considered a warranty replacement. Please, someone tell me if this is Wayne Dalton policy since the opener has a life time warranty!! Greg Lambert We bought our iDrive for Torsion Springs around 2005. We had major problems getting it to work right, and W-D sent a replacement logic board and light unit. A couple of years ago it started making a terrible "ratcheting" noise and wouldn't move the door. The original dealer no longer carried these, but I found another dealer who arranged for me to receive a complete new unit. A few days ago this failed, and I discovered that they are no longer made and parts are no longer available (apart from some odds and ends on ebay); so much for the lifetime warranty on the motor. Clicking "openers" on the W-D Website now takes me to "Genie" openers. I ordered a German-made Sommer opener from Home Depot online; they are not sold in the stores. Excellent reviews by customers. Lowe's and Amazon sell them as well. Perce
