idrive opens garage door, but will not close all the way

Help! My iDrive opens fine but will not close all the way. It starts down, but stops abruptly after coming down about one door panel or about 15". It started doing this sporadically some time ago. It would close after one to three additional tries, but now will not close at all. I have to close it manually, then reconnect to lock it down and be ready for the next opening. The remote works fine, and the door moves freely when the opener is released and the door will stay in place at 3 - 4 feet up when moved manually. When it stops coming down it stops very abruptly, as if it hit something, but there's nothing there. I have misplaced the manual so have no other reference.

thanks, JIm

It seems that your idrive has lost its profile. Profile it again and see if it helps.

Thanks, but how does one re-profile this unit? I've seen another reference to this procedure, but do not know how it's done.

Thanks again,

Jim

I don't quite remember off the top of my head. But I think there is a "profile" button on the wireless remote for the garage. You hold it down for 5 seconds to start the profile.

Do you have the instruction manual? If not, try this thread: Wayne-Dalton idrive (Torsion Spring) Garage Door Opener.
