Problem After Changing Spring

I put a new single spring in my i-drive Opener tube (right side wind) After winding it 16 turns, I manually try to lift the door. It goes up about 18 inches and then if I lift it higher, the cables have slack. I've redone the installation several times and every time I can only lift to the same height. I even tightened the spring a bit more and it keeps going only to the same height.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the exact same issue. I can manual open my door to about 3/4 open and the the cable becomes slack on the drums.
I have done extra turns and less turns to no affect.
