snapping noise from stove topMy stove is making random snapping noises - it's the ignitor...randomly... is there something I can do or should I worry? sarcast uhh... you mean when it's off? or while it's already on? if it's while it's off... you probably have an electrical problem with the electric ignitor. i would worry if there is a cross or short in the wiring somewhere inside. if it's the ignitor itself, probably not much worry needed, just get the part and replace it. remember to shut off the gas if you plan to do any work on it, especially if the pilot will be off. also be careful if you pull it away from the wall to make sure you don't yank the gas cable loose. charlie
