$5 Snowboard Space SaverNow that winter is gone and summer is here, it's time to put away your snowboards until the next snow season. In the past, I’ve hid my snowboards in the closet, but, nowadays, I rather use the closet space for clothing and other stuff. I realized that there are actually quite a bit of space in the garage, toward the ceiling, that is. So I thought, why not find a way to store the snowboards there. Although I'm sure that there are special snowboard storage gadgets out there, I just don't feel that it's a necessity to pay a premium for something specially designed for a snowboard. I’m looking for an inexpensive solution. So while walking around in the local Wal-mart, I came across some generic utility hooks. There were only a few dollars each. A light bulb lit in my head. Mount two of these on the garage wall to hold up the snowboards, which I did as shown in the photo below. To mount these universal wall hooks, follow the procedure I presented in the "Hanging Your Photo Frame". Chieh Cheng My wife and I both have snowboards. But the way the hooks are angled, I was able to store both snowboards by lining the bottom side of the snowboards toward each other. To avoid dust, my wife gave me an old bed sheet for us to wrap the snowboards in (see photo below). That way, ever winter we can bring the snowboards down and throw the bed sheet into the washer and dryer. To avoid the snowboards from falling off the hooks during earthquake, I used bungee cords to strap the boards to the hooks. Chieh Cheng
