Tile Edging - Grout or Caulk

Standing in the kitchen, making myself a hazel nut chocolate sandwich, a question floated to the top of my mind. The question was whether it was better to gront or caulk the edge where the tiles meet the wall trim.

I had done both when I laid 12"x12" tiles in our laundry room. I grouted large openings and caulked small seams. It was difficult to grout the edge because the wall gets in the way of the putty knife and the grout float. The caulk was easier to manage, because the tip is easy to control. But in large openings, you have to fill in alot of caulk.

Post-mortum, I wonder if I have to do it again, which way I would go. How would you do it? What is your experience?
