How to Get the Marble Out of Ramune

Thank you v much. My roommate and I spent over an hour trying to get the marble out, using boiling water, scissors, a pen knife, a kitchen knife, and a nail file, during the course of which we got very close to getting the cap off using the kitchen knife in about the same way as the hacksaw before I cut myself (great), but we will try again using your technique!! Glad to know we are not alone in the struggle.

The plastic blue cap will twist off. I just did it after reading this thinking there had to be a better way.

Wrap the bottle up in a bag, then smash the neck. Done.

I found one brand, Genki Ramune, where the plastic top is actually a twist cap. So after you finish the drink, you can just twist the top off and the marble comes out. Also makes it possible to actually recycle the bloody things. I thought there was some physical or manufacturing reason why they made tops that don't come off, but apparently there isn't, it's just that most brands don't care. I will only buy Genki Ramune from now on…

Did not have a mini so used a regular hacksaw to cut a slot through the plastic on the side and top, then removed the blade and cut a slot on the inside lined up with the top and outside slot. Got through the plastic and down to the glass. Then used a medium flathead screwdriver to pry it off from the inside by getting the tip under the inside edge of the plastic and angling it

The metal cap is just a thin aluminium sheet stretched over a flat O-ring in soft plastic. I used a flat screwdriver as a lever inside the bottle hole to lift and break the metal sheet away. It will stretch then just crack. Continue towards the side, inserting the screwdriver between the glass and the metal wrap, to lift and break the metal until it comes apart. The o-ring is just sitting on the bottle neck, it will just fall off. The marble comes free . 5~10 min job
