Good Detergent for HE Washer?

We just bought a top loader HE machine Casio from Whirlpool and the recommended Tide HE detergent. I noticed immediatly that my tan work cloths we not coming clean. Soil created by my kneeling down on the earth was still there after washing. My old water guzzeler washed the clothes just fine. We use the correct amount of detergent and have soft water. Is there a better detergent?
