Getting Rid of Those Pesky AntsOur house had a pretty bad ant problem for years. We struggled controlling it at first, trying various sprays and pesticides to kill the ants. The problem with these is that while they are effective short term options they do not get to the root of the colony and destroy the eggs. A few years ago I went to the local hardware store and bought some solid ant poison. It usually is sold by the gallon and is under the name “Andro.” It is solid ant poison that looks like food crumbs. It is effective because ants see the poison and think that it's food. They pick up the poison and carry it back to the colony. Once they bring it inside, it spreads and kills both ants and eggs. This is an effective long-term solution for I only have to do this 3-4 times a year. That number might still sound like a lot but compared to the past, it is MUCH easier this way!! So yeah, I would avoid any kind of spray unless you just want to stop the ants temporarily. That stuff is not worth the money you pay in my opinion. Home Depot or Lowe's will have the Andro ant poison and I recommend it!! Mbplayer
