Fixing the Rio Carbon PouchI've had the Rio Carbon for a long time. It's my favorite MP3 player. So I use it in the car. It's already protected in the pouch. The problem is that the adhesive on the elastic strap isn't made for the extreme heat generated when the car is baked in the sun. No long after, the straps came loose (see photo below), render the Rio Carbon vulnerable to scratches. Attached Image: Chieh Cheng I ignore the problem for a while, but a solution came to me. What is the most versatile adhesive in the world? Ok. Don't answer that. I don't know. But I know the white glue that I first come in contact with in elementary school comes pretty close. It's quite versatile and work on almost anything. Although it breaks down easily in water, it's not sensitive to heat. So I grabbed my bottle of Elmer's Glue-All Multi-Purpose Glue and lined the inside the of the strap insert with white glue (see photo below). The glue worked well and held strong, even in the heat of the car. The other side, of course, came loose. But after applying the white glue to the other side, the pouch stayed together. For now, it's working. If it ever falls apart, I'll update this post. Attached Image: Chieh Cheng
