Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile USAIs the Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon process any good? Chieh Cheng not bad. I think ti's used in thunderbolt - has power to for 720p video recording, gaming, and probably future Android updates. you getting a new phone? Sarcast I'm thinking of upgrading to the following phone when it comes out: http://www.androidauthority.com/motorola-triumph-to-go-on-sa . . . http://old.news.yahoo.com/s/ac/20110626/us_ac/8700109_motoro . . . Chieh Cheng Yeah, I will probably pick one up on 7/19 if they have it at Target (5% off with red card). gnowk I have the Samsung Intercept on Virgin Mobile. Which is why I'm The only solution to this problem at this time, is if Motorola Triumph Chieh Cheng i have an optimus v. The Optimus is a decent phone... there are some shortcomings (tinny sounding speakers, bluetooth misbehaving, etc), but generally it works well. I am looking forward to the faster processor, front facing camera, larger screen and larger internal memory on the Triumph. Hopefully, I can still use it for tethering. And I hope Swype is available. gnowk How are you tethering at this time? I use Proxoid, which does not require a rooted phone. However, you do As a side note, the Proxoid is only sufficient for getting my netbook Chieh Cheng The Optimus on Virgin Mobile runs stock Android 2.2. WiFi tethering is built-in but hidden. I used an app called Quick Settings to make it available. This works without rooting. Don't think this works on the Intercept though. http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-v/358177-well-known-fact . . . gnowk In that case, I think you (and I) should have no problem with the Chieh Cheng the stock in that case meant stock UI... but i hope wifi tethering will remain available. gnowk Doesn't sound like they're locking anyone down. But unlocking is easy these days. I've bricked my G1 many times and it's still ticking. Sarcast motorola has a history of locking their bootloader... i think this makes it impossible / difficult to root the phone, but the triumph is actually a re-badged Huawei IDEOS X6, so maybe it won't have anything from Motorola except for the logo. we'll see when it comes out. gnowk I could see why you are concerned about the Motorola Triumph now. Are you saying that other Motorola phones are produced by Motorola, It sounds like I'm repeating the obvious, but I'm trying to understand Chieh Cheng I don't know if Motorola carries other rebadged / rebranded phones, but they do make phones themselves (Droid, Atrix, etc). check out all the other names it goes by: gnowk Based on this answer, I suspect that Motorola will lock it out like It's not clear from the link that the Motorola Triumph is a rebadged Chieh Cheng Here's a,, thread on attempts to use wifi tether on the Motorola Triumph. It isn't looking good... http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1724977-Motorola- . . .,, submicron
