Android 5 Lollipop Battery SaverOne of the new feature of Android 5 Lollipop is the new Battery Saver feature. Today, after my Google LG Nexus 5 upgraded to the new OS, I finally got my taste of it. To access the feature, enter Settings -> Battery -> Pull Down Menu -> Battery saver. The screen shot is the Battery Saver settings screen. Mel You can manually turn it on and off with the toggle switch. After turning it on, you will see the bright orange notification bar and soft button bar. The color theme in power saving mode is horrific. It is so horrific that I don't know if I would keep the phone in this mode all the time. Mel When the Battery Saver page said that this feature will automatically disable when the phone is on charger, I didn't realize that it turns the feature off permanently. I thought it would have turned it back on after I remove the phone from the charger. That means it is really difficult to make the phone last a long time without manually enabling it all the time. The consolation is that you can enable automatic battery saving when the battery is low (see screen shot below). Mel
