Accessing Windows Share Drives in Windows Mobile 6

Today, I was thinking it would be really nice if I can access my Windows shared drives with my Windows Mobile phone. Usually you can access Windows share services with the "\\server\" prefix in the path. But I don't remember Windows Mobile File Manager having the capability to type in a path.

So I played with it a little bit and came up with these steps:

1. Start "File Manager"
2. Tap the "Menu"
3. Tap "Go To"
4. Tap "Open Path"
5. Tap "New Path..."

File Manager shows the "Open path" dialog, which has "\\" pre-entered for you. That looks like the way to access your Windows share. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I'm guessing that it will work.
