Enable Path and File Name Completion

Normally, you can use the tab key in the Windows XP Command Prompt to have Windows automatically complete your file names. It's turned on by default. But for some reason, it wasn't enabled on one of my notebooks. After digging around, I put together the registry settings required to turn it on (see attached file below).

If you are faced with this problem, or are running Windows 2000, you can download the registry file below to apply to your system. Once you double-click the file, after downloading it, Windows XP will ask, "Are you sure you want to add the information in xxxx to the registry?", where xxxx is the file path. Click the "Yes" Button to enable file and path name completion. The process is complete when you see the following Windows message: "Information in xxxx has been successfully entered into the registry."
