idrive opens fine, but won't close

Got an I-drive unit that will open fine, then when you go to close it after pushing the wall mount switch, it goes down about 18 inches then stops. I've checked to make sure there is nothing in front of the photo beam, tried the manual release, raise/close door and recycle the system. Nothing seems to work. Still the same thing happens....any suggestions ?? Thanks..Dave
