What a coincidence. I just saw my co-worker do this on an Android tablet a few days ago. The LG Optimus is Android, so you can use the do a factory reset on it. But in this manner, you will lose all your data.

You can probably download most of your data via USB connection before you wipe the data. You'll use the ADB to access the internal memory.

Once you are satisfied with the data download, you can do the factory reset. One way to do the factory reset is to connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable. Then use ADB to communicate with the phone. Issue the following command to initiate the process:

adb shell
recovery --wipe_data
