bad weather affect 4G signal on N9005?

Own my note 3 SM-N9005 for months already. Not worrying about the impact on battery life of it ever since I got an extended battery out off mpj, so I am able to enjoy super-fast 4G network, but I discovered that 4G icon that shows up in the top sometimes disappears while there is heavy rain. Does weather affect the 4G signal?

I don't have a scientific answer. But I noticed the same thing with my Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Connection is already bad in my office, but when the weather is bad, forget it.
