IC data for Ipod MiniHello Chieh, I saw that you have opened your Ipod mini. Could yhou please tell me what is the part number (whatever on top of the IC for IC11 (about 1 inch from bottom left as seen from the front of the Ipod) This ic is about 5mm square and have 16 pins, 4 on each sides. Somehow mine was toasted and I need to repair Parmin Ok, I'll have to take my iPod apart to get you that information. From the picture below, would you circle the IC you need information for with a graphics software? That way I can be sure to get you the right one. So how did you burn it out? Attached Image: Chieh Cheng Here it is, I found out this morning that the chip should be LTC4055 USB Power Controller and Liion Charger. Parmin Here is the photo of it in detail.. Toasted :( I reckond the cable were shorted out while charging in my car. It was a long trip (6 hours) and the Ipod suddently died, and when I opened it this is what I found. Parmin Parmin, It looks like the surrounding components are also fried. Are you going to be able to replace all those parts? Chieh Cheng Chieh, The surrounding materials are the standard 0402 size capacitors and resistors. They are not fried, even if they are, I have them in my stock. The one I dont have is the chip. It is just my bad photography that show them as black parts :) Although I think I know what the part number is, I cannot be sure. Based on the chip size, pin profile and rough tracing of the PCB, I think it is the LTC4055. Did you open your Ipod? could you please either take a close up photo of the chip for me or if you could just write out the chip number for me please? Parmin I see. I had the impression that you already know for sure what the chip is. I will take my iPod mini apart tonight and get you a picture and the chip designation. Chieh Cheng Thanks Chieh. Parmin Parmin, I shot all of the IC's on the board . . . hope they help. Attached Image: Chieh Cheng Attached Image: Chieh Cheng This shot is taken with the iPod mini right-side up . . .
