Easiest Way to Cancel a Domain Hosted by GoDaddyRecently, I wanted to cancel a few domain names that I haven't been using. Although I manage all my domains online, I didn't think it's possible to cancel them online. I figured that you have to call it in. But I am wrong. I just figured out how to do it easily on GoDaddy. And I will show you how in this post. First, log into your GoDaddy account and pull up the list of domain names you own. Click on the one you want to cancel. "Auto Renews" is set to "on" by default. Click on "change" next to "Auto Renews" to change your setting. Then pick the "Do not automatically renew domains" option and click the "OK" button. The next screen says, "Selected items have been submitted. Please allow a few minutes for processing." Click on the "OK" button to complete the process. Now your domain will automatically expire when time is up! Keep in mind that you need to make this change before it automatically renews. Or you'll pay for another year before the domain is canceled.
