Firefox Hangs on Launch

Starting about a week ago, Firefox would hang on start. It just shows a partial border (see screen shot below). I uninstalled it and reinstalled with a fresh version 13 installer that I downloaded. But it had the same problem. Any ideas on how to solve it?

I found that this only happens when I launch Firefox using a Remote Desktop session (keep in mind that it used to work even on Remote Desktop sessions). However, when I launch Firefox at the actual computer, it launches fine.

I found this bug report today: Bug 767081 - Firefox 13 freezes over remote desktop with hardware acceleration enabled

Using it as a reference, I enabled "-safe-mode" on Firefox and it launched fine on Remote Desktop. So the bug report is obviously correct. Mozilla Firefox 13.0.1 has problem with hardware acceleration over Remote Desktop. This is on a Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 woth a AMD Radeon HD 6290 graphics chip.

I went into the Firefox (Safe Mode) about box to see its version number and noticed that it is downloading an update. I applied the update and it restarted itself in safe mode. It's version is 16.0.2. I restarted it in normal mode over Remote Desktop and it works. So I guess the problem is solved!
