Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 Expansion Bays

The Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 netbook has a number of expansion ports all under one large panel. The panel is held in place with a single screw (see photo below). After removing the screw, slide the entire panel forward to access the expansion slots.

The hard drive (shown in the top left hand corner of the photo below) is padded with blue foam. If you switch hard drives, remove the foam and stick it to the new hard drive.

The single memory slot is below the fan. The computer comes with a 2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz memory module. You can replace it with a 4 GB or an 8 GB memory module to boost the RAM.

A second memory slot is below the first one. Unfortunately, Acer choose not to solder a connector in place. Therefore, this slot is practically unusable.

A half-length mini-PCIe WiFi card is located on the left bottom side of the photo. This netbook comes with a Wireless-N card, so there is hardly a reason to replace it.

Be careful when you remove the hard drive. It's attached to the motherboard via a thin and fragile ribbon cable. It seems fairly easy to rip this cable.

The included hard drive is a Hitachi Z5K320-250 250GB 5400RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s hard drive.
