Clicking Sound with Acomdata External Hard Drive

I have a Acomdate external hard drive that is making this clicking sound like a clock; it seems that the hard is not spinning and obviously my PC doen't recognize it. The power light turns on, can anyboy tell me how to fix it without paying anybody to recover my data?

The clicking sound you are hearing, is probably the "Click of Death". It's a physical problem, so there is no software that can help you. If you want to recover data without paying experts, I'm sorry to say that you're probably shit out of luck.

The clicking sound is from the heads going to the platters and back to park. It does it because the platters are not spinning up, due to a failure. So it keeps retrying.

If you are lucky, you might be able to get it to spin up one out of every so many times. If so, have another hard drive ready and start copying things off. Your mileage will only go so far, because it's likely to die in the middle of your copy process. If you can't even get it to spin up (without the clicking sound), then it's like Tim said, you are out of luck.
