Samsung NC10: The Cleanest Solution

Samsung NC10 was not available in Europe until October 2008, and it has become one of the best netbook options in the whole market. The two main features that distinguish this netbook from the rest are its 6 cell battery that is able to provide a little more than 7 hours of unplugged power, and the fact that its keyboard is the only one with a special system that cleans it from bacteria; this revolutionary system is called Silver Nano Technology, and it works by spreading nano-sized small particles of silver ion powder which makes it impossible for the bacteria to reproduce.

It received the name NC10 because it belongs to the N series and the size of its Wide SuperBright screen is 10.2 inches.

The Samsung NC10 is the first and only model for the Samsung N Series, and it is built with an Intel Atom N270 processor that runs at 1.6GHz, 1GB DDDR2 RAM, one extra SODIMM memory slot so the RAM can be upgraded up to 2GB, an 80, 120 or 160GB SATA hard disk, Atheros 802.11b.g Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, Ethernet 10/100, 2 speakers, 1.3 Mega pixel webcam, high definition audio, headphone and microphone jacks, 3 in 1 multi card slot able to read SD, SDHC and MMC memory cards and an 84 keys keyboard 93% full sized. All the NC10 are configured with Genuine Windows XP Home Edition with SP3, and among the preloaded software it comes with McAfee Antivirus Scan, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Cyberlink DVD Media and different managers, as Easy Battery, Network, Speedup and Display Managers. For security issues it has a Kensington Lock Port, Samsung Recovery Solution III and HDD password.

The N Series from Samsung can be a little bit confusing, since it uses this name for different kind of products, as it is the case of the spinpoint hard drives and some cameras like the NV7. As it has been mentioned, the NC10 is actually the only netbook from Samsung, and by today there is still no news or rumors of a new model. As other late netbooks, it has the best features that can be found in the market so it is really not urgent to launch a new model, but we are sure we will receive news from Samsung as new technologies appear, mainly in the processors area or network cards for Internet mobile connections.
