It has been reported that DeWALT 20V MAX power tools have built-in over-discharge circuit in the tool. So you can practically use any other brands' 18V/20V Lithium Ion battery packs without having to worry about killing the battery packs. Note than when you are done using the tool/battery, you should never leave any battery adapter on the battery pack. There could be circuitry in the battery adapter that could drain the battery pack. Ridgid 18V Battery PackIt has been reported that the Ridgid 18V batteries do have built-in over discharge protection. Therefore, it should be safe to use Ridgid 18V batteries with an adapter on DeWALT 20V MAX power tools. But you might consider disassembly your Ridgid 18V battery to ensure that there is an over discharge protection circuit.
The DIY adapter above is a do-it-yourself adapter, so you will need to provide the circuitry to make it work. You'll need to make the DeWALT 20V MAX power tool "recognize" the battery with resistors in the adapter. Ryobi ONE+ 18V Battery PackWe have not found a direct Ryobi ONE+ 18V battery pack to DeWALT 20V MAX power tool adapter. But luckily for you, we have found two adapters, when combined together makes the desired adapter:

But you might consider disassembly your Ryobi ONE+ battery to ensure that there is an over discharge protection circuit.
