idrive opens upon close

Have had this IDrive since the house was built( about 9 years) and have recently been having problems with the garage
door not closing. It will come back up as soon as it hits the ground. There is absolutely nothing in the way that would
cause it to not close. Please help! Wayne Dalton is no longer taking customer service or repair calls.

Have you performed the "profile" routine after this problem started occurring? After performing the "profile" routine, does it still fail in the same way?

As Cheng mentioned, re-profiling might be a good idea. I would also operate the door manually to check for proper operation of the door itself.

I ran into the same problem. Ran the profile routine as mentioned on the label that's on my door. it said the unit was supposed to cycle up and down twice and then would be set. Mine went up, then down, but would not go up again. No it won't do anything but beep at me.

I would start by operating the door manually and checking to see if the door isn't binding and is balanced properly. The door should not "stick" at any point in travel along the tracks and should balance when you open it halfway, meaning that the door should stay in place when you open it halfway. If your door fails the balance test and/or sticks, call a pro so they can fix your door and then try reprogramming the operator. Given that your door is 9 years old, it's probably due for a tune-up/lube. You should also check to make sure the tracks are not binding against the door and that they aren't forcing the door sections tightly against the stop molding. If the door works fine, then I would try reprogramming (or "re profiling" as Wayne Dalton referred to it when they still made these machines) to see if that solves the problem. Hope this helps! If not, then let us know! Best of luck!
