idrive opens door part way then stops

My iDrive starts opening the door then stops. If I try again it only opens a little bit and stops. No grinding of gears or anything. A couple chirps and that is it. I have to manually help it to open all the way.

Is that a "idrive for torquemaster" or a "idrive for torsion bar"? Mine is the latter. And in my experience, if that happens, it's because: 1) your garage door is now out of balance; or 2) your garage door characteristic changed slightly.

For cause #2, re-profile the idrive to your garage door and it'll work once again.

For cause #1, you have to re-balance your garage door. Use the procedure in your idrive manual to check whether your garage door is balanced.
