Two Hidden Buttons on the Sommer Direct Drive Remote

I just bought the Sommer Direct Drive 1042V001 Garage Door Opener. I took the cover off the wireless remote control and found two extra hidden buttons (see attached photo). I read through the instruction manual and it didn't mention them at all; not even a diagram of them. Any one know what they are for? And how do we use them if they are covered?
