What is "Switch display content" in Android Memory Settings?

Ok... been using my new BLU Pure XR. I went into "Settings" -> "Advanced Settings" -> "Memory". At the top of that screen, I see "Switch display content" (see screen shot below). It defaulted to 3 hours. If you tap it, you can select 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or 1 day. But what is this "Switch display content"? What does it do? And what does it have to do with memory?

Ok... after looking at the memory setting screen on the Google LG Nexus 5, I realized that "Switch display content" has no significant meaning. It is just a fancy way of saying pull down menu. The screen shot below shows that the phrase is nonexistant on the Nexus 5.

And selecting the hours just changes the display and the data show. It doesn't change the device operation.
