Virgin Mobile Moving $25 Plans to $35 PlansJust got a text on my phone this morning from Virgin Mobile USA: "VMFreeMsg Starting 5/27/12, new smartphones will be subject to Looks like you can keep your $25 plan for now. But if you switch to CC this sucks...however, it could be because they're getting WiMax. Sarcast Is that faster than 4G or is it the same speed? CC hmm....I don't know. LTE is faster. I kinda equate wimax to hpsa 3.5. But WiMax is dying. It'll be around for many years but the selection of phones will shrink because even Sprint is going with LTE in 2013. Sarcast I am not on Virgin Mobile anymore. I am now on T-mobile's $30 plan (5GB data / 100 mins / unlimited text). T-mobile's data speed is much faster than VM's. WiMax is the 4G technology currently in use by Sprint. Sprint is switching their postpaid customers over to LTE, so they are making WiMax available to their prepaid customers. Why are Virgin and Boost Launching WiMAX? It looks like a good upgrade for VM users if they want faster speed and don't mind paying for a new phone and higher monthly fee. gnowk yeah, you should wait and see what new phones they'll have. Maybe the Galaxy Nexus. Google is selling them for $400. Awesome deal. Sarcast Thanks. That's a well written article and it makes a lot of sense. CC
