I want Wii but I'll wait till next year...it should ahve DVD playback features then.

Plus, I want to see if Xbox 360 will drop their price. PS3 is a piece of $#@$!!!

It'll cost like $4500...

The game system and a couple of games will cost about $1000...system is $699 plus two games...taxes...you're looking at $1000.

Then you can't play it on a reg TV...you need an HDTV...that'll cost $3500 for a good 50"...

And that's assuming everyone follows Walmart with their price drops...which ain't happening since the 50" are very new...my buddy knows what I'm talking about...we went to see a couple of those...

I don't think you'll need a HDTV to play PS3. In fact, the ones shipping on Friday won't even come with HDTV cables. They are including the composite cables in the first batch.

which beats the purpose of buying a system that was made to play high definition games to begin with...

Personally, if my PS2 dies tomorrow (which might be the case since I stepped on it yesterday), I'd go out and buy another PS2...still got leg in that system...at last for another couple of years...it's what's keeping Sony's home entertainment arm afloat...in fact, the whole company.

PS3 has a lot of launch issues. They rushed it to market, had to borrow like a 100 mill just to get it out the door. i would wait for the 2nd gen series at least. $700-$1000 is too much to blow on something like that. i'm expecting some sort of class action i'm sure.

Wii sounds cool, but is it a game system? i thought it was just a controller.

I agree with Charlie...the most I'm willing to pay for ps3 is $300 (including tax/shipping)

And $200 for Wii. So, we're talking waiting 2 years for Nintendo to drop the price and never for Sony.

Even still, with 80 million PS2 out there, there's still going to be a lot of games coming out for it.
