Linux on Intermec Norand 6642
I've got Debian Lenny and Etch running on this badboy, but NO
Does Linux run decent on it? The 6642 is not a terribly fast computer. And with the bloated Linux nowadays. I don't know what performance you are going to get out of it. Windows 98 seems to run fairly fast on it. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to get Linux to work with the touch screen on this thing.
I said Debian, not Ubuntu. Try to run Ubuntu and you're screwed. Well
Seems strange posting on a 1 year old thread, but I've exhausted the internet's resources on the Intermec Pen*key 6642. I recently bought one on ebay with win98 installed and after some glitch/crash I was prompted to reinstall windows. After formatting it on another pc, I suddenly realized that there appeared to be no way to install it back on. Just wondering, how did you install linux on it, by which I mean how did you load the ISO without a CD drive, Floppy, or bootable USB?
