Intel Classmate PC

Intel Classmate PC is a low cost personal computer for students. It is introduced as competitor to the One Laptop per Child program. The latest version of Intel Classmate PC has the advanced touch pad and keyboard. It comes with 30GB hard drive with 512 MB memory. Screen size of the newer Intel Classmate PC is 9 inch. Most of these are preloaded with education software for students. Some of the software installed on this laptop enables the teacher to monitor students� work from her laptop.

Operating system comes with this notebook is windows XP. Its rugged design keeps the notebook for a long time and it is meant for the day to day use of children. Average cost of these laptops is $284. Intel introduces this as a medium to popularize education among the children of developed countries.

It works in various wireless networks. One of the key features of this netbook is the introduction of theft-deterrent solutions in it.

It is not stylish and colorful. It is difficult to be productive for programming. The smaller 1GB and 2GB SSD is quite limited in storage capacity. It is built on a standard desktop platform. Intel Classmate PC has low-powered processor and limited memory. Less battery power is one other draw backs of Classmate PC. Size of the keyboard is very small. The resolution of the monitor is 800 x 480. It display images isn't so bright and lively.
