KMail 1.12.4 Doesn't Save Mail in Text?

Really quite surprised to be using a newer version (1.12.4) of KMail today to find that it doesn't save mail messages in plain text format. This the KMail that came with CentOS 6.3. The previous version of KMail I used on SuSE Linux saved plain text fine. Instead of saving as 'txt', the new version of KMail save it with a 'mbox' extension.

Sure, the 'mbox' file is still text, but it contains character sequence encoding for the mail system. That means you have to run the file through another parser to turn it into purely just human readable file.

Of course, I haven't figure out what parser I need to turn mbox files into txt files. But I sure wish KMail could just do it internally.
