Setup VNC on OLPC XOIn order the manipulate the Sugar user interface on the OLPC XO with a remote computer, it is time to install VNC server. I tried all different ways of manually installing VNC server on the OLPC XO, just so that I don't have to crouch at the kiddie table. But it was futile. I finally resorted to doing it the easiest way--in front of the OLPC XO itself. The easiest way is to download and install the VNC Launcher. And you can only do this sitting in front of the OLPC XO. I wish there is a way you can install it in a remote SSH command-line. But the instructions doesn't specify how to do that. The good news is that once you have installed the VNC Launcher, you can start it remotely from the command-line using the following commands: export DISPLAY=:0.0 Chieh Cheng I forgot to mention that you will have to change the following line in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" from 'Option "XTEST" "Disable" # Mostly a debugging tool' to 'Option "XTEST" "Enable" # Mostly a debugging tool' in order for keyboard and mouse to function. You'll have to sudo in order to change the file. Chieh Cheng
