First Impression of Sugar on XO

I have received the OLPC XO laptop a few days ago. It's been packed away most of the time. It's a Christmas present for my daughter, so I don't want her to see it until then. I finally turn it on just now and here are my impression of it.

There is no mass storage access indicator.
The very first boot up screen took a long time to load, so I wasn't sure it hung or I needed to do something to move it forward.
The touch pad isn't tap-able; at least not when you first turn it on.
On initial boot, first thing it asks you is your name. I put in my daughter's name.
On initial boot, second activity is for you to change color of the XO stick figure. Fun!
It has a 1GB storge and 359 MB has already been used.
There is no system configuration settings. All that must be done from the command-line.
Activities (applications) doesn't start very fast.
There are a lot of cute icons.
It's like a super learning toy for kids.
