Disabling OLPC XO Screen Saver
The OLPC XO screensaver seems to be the most elusive topic of all time. No amount of search on Google, nor on the OLPC wiki yield any results. That's . . . like . . . impossible! How can a topic not turn up a single relevant result on Google search? And so it is, I can't find anything regarding OLPC XO screen saver. Somebody, please, tell me how to disable it.
Ok. The screen saver is set-up via the X preference, which is set with the "xset" command. You can turn off the screen saver using the following command in the terminal:
xset s off
And then you'll have to disable DPMS (Energy Star), which stands for display power management system. The command to disable DPMS is as follows:
The change is temporary and is in effect until you reboot.
To make the change persistent between reboots, you'll have to insert those two lines into the "/home/olpc/.xsession" file. If the file doesn't exist, then you'll have to create it.
