Prevent Windows Update from Automatically Restarting Your ComputerI hate it when Windows Update automatically restarts my computer after an update. Many times, I'm running mission critical tasks in the middle of the night. It always twists my stomach when I wake up to find that the task are no longer running because Windows has rebooted the computer all by itself. So I dug around on the Internet and found the "How To Disable Forced Restarts After A Windows Update" article. The article explained how you can modify a registry value to prevent the automatic restart. To make our lives easier, I've exported the registry value into the file attached below. Download it and double click it to apply it to your Windows registry. Windows registry export are just text files, so you can examine it to be sure that it is valid. Mel Works with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. anonymous
