Where is LaCie Getting Their 3TB and 4TB Hard Drives?

I just noticed that LaCie markets and sells its "Big Disk Network" external hard drive. And it's pretty impressive, because it comes in 2TB, 3TB, and 4TB versions. Here is the 3TB version being sold in stores now: LaCie 3TB Big Disk Network Hard Drive $413.99 Shipped

But the real big question is where is LaCie getting their 3TB and 4TB hard drives. I haven't seen any 3TB and 4TB internal hard drive on the market. Searching Seagate and Western Digital did not turn up anything.

And it doesn't look like the LaCie Big Disk Network External Hard Drives are two hard drives joined together. Because it you look at the spec sheet attached below, you'll see that the dimension for the 2TB version is the same as the dimension for the 3TB and 4TB versions. From it's photos, it looks like a single drive external enclosure.

So what's going on? Did LaCie magically make some of their own 3TB and 4TB internal hard drive? Or have some 3TB and 4TB internal hard drives make their way to the manufacturers without getting to the consumer market?

It's just a dual drive enclosure - Looks like vertical mount, side by side. There are no drives higher than 2TB on the market.

Did you ever find out the manufacturer of the drives within?

Their specs and photo is really mis-leading . . . as they seem to indicate a single drive enclosure:

Unfortunately, I did not find out what drives are in it, because I ended up getting a Seagate 1.5TB Expansion Drive and a Western Digital 2TB Elements Drive. I do know what drives are in these two external enclosures, if you are interested, as I am going to write up the disassembly instructions in the Wiki after I post this message.
