Toshiba DWC120 2 TB External Hard Drive Makes Clicking SoundsI have the DWC120 2 TB external hard drive. My laptop does not recognize it. All I hear is a clicking sound. What can be the problem with this drive and how do I fix it? The drive is out of warranty. Can I open this case to take the drive out? Timothy The internal hard drive has failed. You can take the internal drive out and re-use the external case with a different hard drive. As for data recovery, you'll probably have to send the drive out for professional recovery service. Mel
