Wireless Network Problem with Ubuntu 8.10 on Acer Aspire 3004WLMiAfter my 2 years old daughter enthusiastically cleaned my wife's Acer Aspire 3004WLMi notebook computer with a baby wife, it no longer works with Windows XP. You read that right; the computer still works, just not with Windows XP. It simply get stuck. And it also gets stuck when I try to install Windows XP. Funny thing is that Ubuntu 8.10 runs just fine on this laptop. Everything seems to work, except for the wireless network card. This Linux Wireless web site seems to have driver for it. I haven't had time to give it a go, but looking forward to trying it out. Has you tried it yet? Chieh Cheng The direct page to the driver/firmware installation instructions is located here: b43 Chieh Cheng It turned out my daughter didn't destroy my wife's computer. Instead, it was a battery failure that caused the Acer laptop to stop working. Bad design on Acer's part. See this thread for more detail of the actual problem: "Acer Aspire 3004WLMi Stopping Responding Keyboard and TrackBall in Windows ". Chieh Cheng
