Sony VAIO PCG-748: Maximum Memory Size

I have a Sony VAIO PCG-748 notebook computer. It's old, but still runs well. Lately, I've been thinking about max'ing out it's memory. It's got two memory slots. one has 128 MB SODIMM and the other has a 32 MB SODIMM. Everywhere I read is that the notebook can have a maximum memory of 192 MB. That means a 128 MB SODIMM in one slot and one 64 MB SODIMM in the other slot. There is one shop that claims it could handle up to 256 MB. Is that true?
