Secure Boot ViolationJust now, out of the blue moon, when I turned on my Asus G46VW gaming laptop, I got a "Secure Boot Violation" dialog. The full message is below: "Invalid signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup" I haven't been able to get into BIOS setup yet. Either I forgot the function key or it is not letting me in. Windows 8 does boot up and run. So I am not sure what is going on. Jake Ok. I solved the problem by going into BIOS. i had to access BIOS the hard way: Boot up Windows 8, move mouse to upper right hand corner, select "Settings", select "Change PC settings", click "General", scroll down, click "Restart now" button under "Advanced startup", choose "Troubleshoot", choose "Advanced options", choose "UEFI Firmware Settings", then click the "Restart" button. What a chore it was. Who made the decision to make it so hard to enter the BIOS? Some how "Boot Options Priorities" shows the following: Boot Option #1: ubuntu That is funny, because my Ubuntu 13.04 installation is a VirtualBox virtual machine. How did its boot manager get onto the BIOS level? Anyway, swapping the boot priority (shown in the photo below solved the secure boot violation problem. Jake
