Replacement Keyboard for MSi Wind U100Does anybody know how to get a replacement keyboard? Need a US keyboard for a U100 Wind laptop.... Sam I'm facing the same problem. My baby dumped juice all over it. Now I'm looking for a new keyboard. Hasn't found a source yet. Let me know if you do. I'll do the same. Chieh Cheng I also want a US keyboard instead of that stupid international keyboard. Make those keyboard available dagnammit ! Mike You have an international keyboard on your Wind? Where did you buy it? I think I have an US keyboard on mine. Chieh Cheng Ok, I found a bill of material (part list) for the MSi Wind U100. The white US keyboard part number is S1N-1UUS361-SA0. There are also part numbers for other keyboards for the MSi Wind U100. No price list or where to order. I've attached the part list below. Chieh Cheng I came home to verify the keyboard that came with my MSi Wind U100. It's not the part that I posted above. It's actually the S1N-1UUS381-SA0 (US-International) version. Chieh Cheng I spilled wine on 2 month old MSI Wind U100-420US 10-Inch Netbook! It was OK for about two weeks. Then the keys started getting sticky. Soon become unusable. Removed keys and cleaned as described elsewhere on internet. In replacing keys I broke several of the small fragile plastic parts that hole keys in place. The clean replaced keys work perfectly. Where can I get these small parts or a complete keyboard replacement? Jim Brown Hi, we have MSI Wind U100 keyboards US layout instock, both Black and White Color. Plz contact me. Turner I also found replacement keyboards at the following for $40.81. Part number: S1N-1UUS2D1-SA0 http://www.ncixus.com/products/36393/S1N-1UUS2D1-SA0/MSI%2FM . . . Fortunately, I didn't have to buy one. I spilled lemonade on the keyboard. Within a day half the keyboard was making loud cracking sounds and some keys weren't always working. Removing the keyboard is easier to do from above by pushing the 3 retention clips along the top of the keyboard back and under the keyboard and then lifting it out. Once I got it out, I held it under a warm stream of water, rinsing it thoroughly and then drying with a hair dryer. The ribbon cable connection was a royal pain. I'm not sure if it's just meant to be a pressure connection or if the ribbon is supposed to be glued to the piece that mates to the connector. As soon as I pushed the connection open, I had a separate piece that was so small I couldn't tell which side was up or down. When it wasn't connected properly, the ribbon was loose. When I finally got it right, the ribbon was firmly held in place, although I did have to push it firmly into the correct position to get all of the keys working. I hope this helps someone. Vance Thanks, Vance. It certainly helps me. Now I can get a replacement keyboard for my broken laptop. Chieh Cheng When reconnecting the keyboard the little black clip can be inserted first and then lift up on it so that it becomes upright at about a 90 degree angle from the motherboard and then insert the cable and then push the small black bar down into position to lock the cable in place. Mark I'm trying to reinstall the keyboard after removing it to clean it (orange juice spilled on it!). I am having the hardest time getting that tiny black clip to snap back into place. Is there a trick? And I can't tell which direction it goes in - there are four possible alignments. Can anyone help me with this? Marc Seems like replacement keyboards are now showing up by the masses on eBay for about $20 a piece.
