Configuring the OLPC XO Laptop for Home Wireless NetworkStatic IP NetworkThis section shows you how to get the OLPC XO onto a home wireless network where all of the wireless network clients uses static IP's. To get the OLPC XO onto such a network, the easiest method is to update the /etc/rc.local file with the correct configuration for your network. Place the following code into /etc/rc.local. Remember to replace each bracketed [] items with the correct network configuration information. # home network The /etc/rc.local file is executed every time you start up the OLPC XO. To return the XO to the original condition, just remove those lines. You can edit the /etc/rc.local file in the Terminal application, using this command (without double-quotes): "sudo nano /etc/rc.local" Chieh Cheng
